Take several deep breaths.

Feel your lungs expand and contract.

Notice how the body appreciates the extra oxygen you are pulling in.

Continue to take slow, deep breaths, and consider how hope can be like oxygen.

In our faith we believe that hope is always present, but sometimes we get consumed with life.

We fail to breathe in hope, to let it fill us.

Heavenly Father,

We struggle to hope. We get consumed with this world, with our fears, with our concerns. Help us to breathe in hope a little more deeply today.

Help us to believe that You are sovereign and that You hold us and our world in Your hands. We look to you for hope as we wait for the coming of Jesus.

Amen.
